Grease Line Cleaning

Grease Line Cleaning

A byproduct of cooking, grease comes from meat fats, lard, oil, shortening, butter, margarine, food scraps, baking goods, sauces, and dairy products. When washed down the sink, grease sticks to the insides of sewer pipes (both on your property and in the streets). Over time, it can build up and block the entire pipe. Caution: Home garbage disposals do not keep grease out of the plumbing system. These units only shred solid material into smaller pieces and do not prevent grease from going down the drain. Commercial additives, including detergents, claiming to dissolve grease may pass grease down the line and cause problems in other areas.

Grease Line Cleaning

A well structured preventative maintenance drain cleaning program can save an end user thousands of dollars over time.  Ensuring that kitchen and prep area drains are cleared of grease and solids on a regular basis can nearly eliminate service calls.  Confirming that all grease producing / collecting drains are serviced by a grease retention structure will ensure that a building is in compliance with local FOG guidelines and requirements.

Crescent is an industry leader in high pressure water jetting “with the flow”.  Most high pressure jetting equipment is intended to be used only on main line laterals, against the flow of waste water.  Perfecting techniques and practices to high pressure jet from the first drain in a prep area all the way to the grease structure has become Crescent’s forte.  Crescent has worked hand in hand with design teams in the sewer cleaning industry to customize cleaning tools for this very application.   To bookend this service, we not only claim that a line is clean – we show you it is clean with a drain line inspection camera.
